Today's Food for Thought (October 8, 2017)

If God doesn't give you what you want, it isn't what you need.

Have faith that understands why some of the things you want are not meant for you to have. Why some doors you want badly to enter remain closed and no matter the pushing and weeping, are not meant to open. Just as valuable as open doors, closed doors are gifts. They teach you and guide you and make you stronger. Trust that God would never withhold anything truly good from you. Trust that when He says 'yes', it is because He loves you and when He says 'no', it is because He loves you. He sees things you do not see and while they do not make sense to you now, one day you will see what He is up to – only the best for you.

Sometimes God gives us orange when we asked for an apple because He knows that the season won't give us the sweetest one. Everything is beautiful in His own time. God is good, for beyond darkness, He gives us light. Beyond our nightmares, He gives us dreams. Beyond our tears, He gives us comfort. God always plan the best things for us. Sometimes we feel being left out, but actually God is saving the better one than what we actually asked for. We just have to be strong to persevere in life. Hold on to God always. Don't run ahead of God. Let Him direct your steps. He has plans and He has time. God's clock is never early or late. It is always strikes on time.

Today's Food for Thought (October 1, 2017)

Sometimes God tests you over and over because you failed the previous times and He wants you to pass.

God's love is not a love that exempts you from trial, but a love that always sees you through trials. He pushes you to the brink to challenge your faith. He brings you storms to make you bear through more rough weathers ahead. He surrounds you with conflict to make you overcome. When He closes a door, He does not always open a window. Sometimes He wants you to sit in the quiet darkness while He transforms your fear into trust. These tests are unannounced, they just come. He tests you to see if you are actually learning and advancing and growing. He tests you so He can show His capacity to provide and love and bless you.

God is good. For beyond the darkness, He gives you light. Beyond our nightmares, He gives us dreams. Beyond our tears, He gives us comfort. God is truly wise. He made sadness so we would know joy; pain so we could have pleasure; hate so we can love; and morning after night so we can face a new day with hope. When we walk with God daily, we need not be afraid. He is our shield, our protector, our Guide. He is our strength and comfort. God allows life to be rocky, not to let the rocks grind into dust but to polish us to become a brilliant GEM.

Today's Food for Thought (September 24, 2017)

When God measures a man, He puts the tape around the heart. - Howard G. Hendricks

God hears no more than the heart speaks. For it is the heart that recognizes and feels love and has the greatest capacity to experience Him. While you may measure another by outward appearance, God measures you by what's inside your heart. When your heart is hardened or is full of fears and pains and longings and yearnings, He touches and changes it. Then He gives you a new heart, full of faith and courage and spirit. As you begin to have the right heart through Him, you begin to measure the worth of others His way. And He is home within.

God is watching nearby to give us His grace, and send us His love. Whatever our problem, whatever our pain, God is there to support and protect us always. Be thankful for God's trials. They are His gifts to strong people. God hears what is not spoken, and understands what is not explained, for His love doesn't work in the lips nor in the mind but in the heart. When we put our burdens and cares in God's hands, He puts His peace in our hearts. If someday you'll find yourself thirsting for comfort because you are in deep pain and frustration, just remember God can always be your refuge when everyone does not hear your cries.

Today's Food for Thought (September 17, 2017)

Prayer is not overcoming God's reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness. - Martin Luther

Praying itself doesn’t earn you a hearing. You don't pray to twist God's arm so He changes His mind and do something as you ask. You don't pray to negotiate and bargain with Him for He knows already what you need before you even start to say a word. You pray to make your heart strong knowing He dwells inside. You pray to continually work with the reality of your own identity that brings you to a personal awareness of your oneness with Him. As you become aware of Him, you become aware of your true self. You are His beloved child and He is your caring, loving, and infinitely wise Father who knows your needs better than you do. He will only give what is best for you.

God is a listening God. Sometimes you don't need to shout or cry out loud because He hears even the very silent prayer of a sincere heart. God is so nice. The more you need Him, the closer He gets to you. When you forget Him, He follow you. And when you fall, He'll carry you. God never gives a burden heavier than we can carry, no matter what. He wants us to be happy than sad. A heart to heart talk with God will lessen your burden for He will never say NO to those who have faith in Him. Don't pray to be sheltered from problems, but pray to be fearless in facing them. Don't be afraid of pain, but ask for a heart that conquers it.

Today's Food for Thought (September 10, 2017)

Life is not all ease and rest and quiet. For an ideal life is marked by conflict and struggle and change. These are divine disturbances.  God disturbs you because of some reluctance to give up things that are not of His plan. He disturbs you to shake you off and force you out of your nest that you may rise on your wings of faith toward a fuller and higher life. Disturbing you is His act of benevolence. That you may learn to see everything through the glass of faith and trust to place everything in His hand.

Faith and Prayer are invisible but they make impossible things possible. It's God's part to do the wonders, ours is the simplest part: to trust and pray. The heart that has a firm faith is not frightened by obstacles because it knows well that God's love does not abandon those who trust in Him. Trusting God in everything is the softest pillow on which to rest and the hardest rock to stand on. Let God hold your hand as you walk through life. Hold on tight, and keep the faith.

Today's Food for Thought (September 3, 2017)

No matter the many puzzle pieces you hold, if you have no idea what the final picture looks like, you'll not be able to complete it. With jigsaw as in life, you'll learn that if you try to force things to fit where they don’t belong, at the very least, you'll meet resistance. To complete your journey will always be a seek and search till you find your One Piece – God. For only He knows the bigger picture. And you need Him to guide you which pieces are mismatched and wrongly assembled; which pieces to put in next and where to put them. Be mindful of the limited number of chances, just like the puzzle pieces that run out, life does not go on forever. With Him at the end of your road, everything fits, everything completes.

My life is but a weaving between my God and me. I may not choose the colors , He knows what they should be. For He can view the pattern upon the upper side, while can see it only on this, the under side. Sometimes He weaves sorrow which seems strange to me, but I will trust His judgment and work on faithfully. At last when life is ended, with Him I shall abide, then I may view the pattern upon the upper side; then I shall know the reason why pain with joy entwined, was woven in the fabric of life that God designed. Life is an effort that deserves a better course. Life is a kind of game, a jigsaw pattern, that one missing piece is so important to complete the beautiful picture.

Spirituality is not a matter of memorizing scriptures and engaging in philosophical discussions. It is in finding that you’ve grown in humility and selflessness and generosity and compassion. It is a matter of heart culture – of seeing the world full of God. It is in moving from asking Him to take care of the things that are breaking your heart, to praying about the things that are breaking His heart. It is in you as a child communing heart to heart with your Father – a heart that is unencumbered and unworried and submerged in His loving will.

To talk with God, no breath is lost. To walk with God, no strength  is lost. To wait for God, no time is lost. Always trust in God, you won't get lost. A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility. For every dream in our heart, God gives us inspiration, for every hope we seek, God gives us unexpected miracles. For every faith we believe, God blesses us more. We are wrapped in a beautiful truth that we're loved without measure.

"The right church is a great place to get closer to God.  The wrong one can be just the opposite.  Right or wrong church depends on whether or not it helps you grow spiritually.  Church or no church, you bring God with you.  You don't seek Him only on Sundays – you talk to Him through prayers in every moment.  Let not your disinterest in a church make you lose faith in God.  For no matter, He will not lose interest in you.  He is holy and far too great to be limited in the confines of a church. Today's Food for Thought (July 23, 2017)

"You don't get everything all at once.  Sometimes, it's a yes.  Sometimes, it's a no.  Most often, you wait.  God loves you beyond your capacity to understand.  He sees the end from the beginning and wants only the best for you.  When answers don’t seem to come, it can be that you don’t understand some truths about what you pray for, or because you don’t recognize answers when they come.  Doubt not – He answers.  He answers yes, to give you confidence; He answers no, to prevent error; He delays to try your faith and exercise your patience.  No matter and however, He will not fail you.  Keep praying in faith.  You will have it – in His time."  Blessed Sunday, everyone.

"Storms come.  They will pass.  So with problems and trials.  It may all be darkness and gloom now but don't forget that behind the thick clouds, the sun still shines.  Trust God's foreseeing eye for He knows where storms lurk and where cyclones hide.  He has prepared you for the rough weather and He knows how you will bear through.  He appoints the weight and number of storms that will come to you.  If He wills you bear a certain weight, no one can add an ounce more.  That storms come from Him is proof enough He is with you.  Be calm – you'll come out of the storm no longer the same person who walked in."  Blessed Sunday, everyone.

"What would friendship be if you don't give time and attention to your friend?  And how can you be best friend to God, if you don't slow down and make your best time for Him?  How can you call Him 'bestie' if you don't trust Him?  It is completely trusting that He'll turn everything beautiful for you no matter the messy situation.  However the pain, lay your heart open and share your pain with Him (because He already knows) and seek healing.  Know Him intimately to experience His love.  No fancy words, talk to Him authentically and ask Him, 'God, is there anything You want to say to me?'  Listen.  When you are in touch with Him, you can live in His peace and walk in peace with others."

It is when you accept life unquestioningly that He takes you out of the furnace and transforms your heartbreak into a source of good and joy and beauty and light. Today's Food for Thought (June 25, 2017)

"God created the shadows to better emphasize the light." - Pope John XXIII

Everyone has a shadow self and carries an invisible shadow bag. Inside are the hidden parts of self – the pain and fear and anger; repressed and denied. As you journey on, it's the weight of the bag that slows you down and prevents you from becoming who you want to be. Open the bag and take the stuff out. Step out from your shadow for you are a child of Light. You are a child of God. Walk into the light with Him and trust that He always has something and everything for you – a light for your shadow, a relief for your sorrow and a plan for your tomorrow.
