Today's Food for Thought (September 19, 2017)

We must stop regarding unpleasant or unexpected things as interruptions of real life. The truth is interruptions are real life. - C.S. Lewis
Interruptions are inevitable – how life works. They are moments when things don't go your way and your plans fail. A flat tire on your way to an appointment. Getting stuck in traffic and you're to pick up a child who suddenly got sick in school. They are small frustrations and unexpected events that can catch you off-guard. Like nothing else, they are acts of God's grace and they do not catch Him off-guard. They are divinely placed reminders that you don't have your life figured out and you need to always look down to see whether you are standing on rock or sand. They are His way of jarring you out of your narrow focus, reminding you to stretch your faith and look up to Him, to rely on Him. Because your agenda is not His agenda and His plans are better than yours.

Everything that God allows to come our way is with a purpose. He uses even the greatest error and deepest hurt to mold us into a better person. God never gives a burden heavier that we can carry, no matter what. He wants us to be happy than sad. God's plans are better than ours, that's why sometimes He doesn't say "yes" to every word we say. Sometimes He just whispers: "My child, allow me... I have a better way." God is watching nearby to give us His grace, and send us His love. Whatever our problem, whatever our pain, God is there to support and protect us always. Trusting God in everything is the softest pillow on which to rest and the hardest rock to stand on.
