You learn something from everyone who shows up in your life. Every lesson is a widening of the mind beyond its conceptual limits; a stretching of the heart beyond its emotional boundaries. Sometimes you'll hear people say, 'God brought us together,' and indeed He does. He brings people into your life precisely when you need them. He brings them to you that you may open your heart and learn to listen and seek to understand. How easy it is to resent negative people. But even that is part of His mystery you have to live with. How you deal with those you find negative teaches lessons of acceptance and humility and empathy. For if He only brought you perfect people, how would you ever learn to evolve? How would you size up yourself?

In life you will realize that the people you meet have a purpose. Some were put there to test you, some would use you, some would teach you, and some would bring out the better if not the best in you. Some may even cause you pain and heartache, but one must learn to move on. So, let go of the people who can't treat you right and hold on to those who love you back and see your worth. After all, life is not about meeting people; it's touching people's lives. What is nice about life is that, each day is never like the other. Enjoy life and throw all troubles away. Life is good when we walk with the Lord. Always put your trust in Him.

Today's Food for Thought (September 10, 2017)

In the grand scheme of things, all that you love and all that you hold dear, slip away. No matter the pain in letting go, holding onto something that God is already done with in your life is missing His plans for you. Pray and seek discernment on what you might be holding onto when He says it’s time for you to let go and move on. Relinquish. When it becomes too difficult to choose that you begin to bleed, make a choice of faith. To choose faith is to choose God. Faith is letting go to Him which is equal to holding on to what's eternal and unshakable. Security in Him is not an option. Cling tighter.

Life is full of uncertainties. We'll never know when our time on earth is up until it is over. Life is real. Life is earnest; and the grave is not it's goal. We can make our lives sublime, and departing, leave behind us footprints on the sands of time. Let us, then, be up and doing, with a heart for any fate; still achieving, still pursuing, learn to labor and to wait. God gives us a loving Spirit so we can be a true person; not just gifted with a mind that can understand but with a heart that truly cares. When you have a reason to live, you will never have a reason to quit. But if you deem it necessary for you to leave, no matter how much prevention is done, Let Go.

Life's discomfort rises and falls like series of waves. They crest and roll and wash a part of you to make way for deposits of treasure that you really are and should be. Out goes naivete, in comes wisdom; out goes anger, in comes discernment; out goes despair, in comes kindness. Every struggle you go through creates opportunities for you to become stronger and wiser and better. Every pain that you learn to tolerate leaves you healthier than it found you. Struggle and pain shift your thinking from 'I cannot' to 'I must' and make you draw strength from within to see life beyond them. For it is doubtful whether God can bless you greatly until He has hurt you deeply. Trust that He is using what hurts you for a greater purpose.
The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen, not touched, but are felt in the heart. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. If we're willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door. I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon. Expand and dream the most beautiful colors that give meaning to your weary life. Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting. But what is beautiful is a joy for all seasons, a possession for all eternity.

When challenges are so big and your strength is no longer enough to carry them, don't give up. Where your strength ends, it's where the grace of God pour. Sometimes struggle are exactly what we need in life. If God allows us to go through life without obstacles, we would not be as strong as what we could have been. We may have struggles with God's timing and the mystery of His will in our lives, but His promise stands. He will make everything beautiful in His time. Facing life's challenges is never easy. We are struggling in may ways. God may not give all the easy ways, but He gives all the love we need to carry on. Life is good when we walk with the Lord. Always put your trust in Him.

Be gentle – nothing is won by force. No matter the provocation, choose to be careful and tactful and gentle-hearted. For when you choose to be calm and peaceful, that creates a soothing effect to those who are beside themselves in a heated situation. When you turn inward to create a caring space within you that is free of judgment, your heart opens to receive more of the light of compassion and grace and understanding – all natural prerequisites for your presence to God in prayer.

Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love. Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us. Never forget the three powerful resources you always have available to you: love, prayer, and forgiveness. I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. You hold the palette; you are the paintbrush. Be mindful – color your world beautiful. You can go deep, you can go bold, or you can just splash all the colors out and see what you can create. When what comes out are disappointing blacks and melancholy blues, refresh the setting. Start fresh layers of new colors and work through the darkness with consistent focus. Completing a beautiful piece with such beautiful hues takes time. Be patient and just keep coloring and creating. That is how God is working on you. He patiently waits the splendorous display of colors of His masterpiece – YOU.

Today's Food for Thought (September 10, 2017)

Life is not all ease and rest and quiet. For an ideal life is marked by conflict and struggle and change. These are divine disturbances.  God disturbs you because of some reluctance to give up things that are not of His plan. He disturbs you to shake you off and force you out of your nest that you may rise on your wings of faith toward a fuller and higher life. Disturbing you is His act of benevolence. That you may learn to see everything through the glass of faith and trust to place everything in His hand.

Faith and Prayer are invisible but they make impossible things possible. It's God's part to do the wonders, ours is the simplest part: to trust and pray. The heart that has a firm faith is not frightened by obstacles because it knows well that God's love does not abandon those who trust in Him. Trusting God in everything is the softest pillow on which to rest and the hardest rock to stand on. Let God hold your hand as you walk through life. Hold on tight, and keep the faith.
